was working as a dj at "blissful outdoor wedding". its a wedding fair located just behind bugis junction. it lasted from last fri till sun.
at first i was only told that it was a wedding fashion show.. so i thought.. ok.. just one day.. and i'm done. but when i got there on fri.. i was like wow.. where's the stage.. only until i called my colleague.. i realised that it was a ctually a 3-days fair rather than a show. so i thought, well... couldnt' get any worse lah.. juz sit there play music anyway..
so i went into the tentage.. found the console. tidied up a bit and started to rock 'n' roll.. until one of the main organisers came greeting me.. and told me that my music doesn't fit their wedding theme.. and the wanted jazzy music.. i was freaked out lah. my cds all either pop. oldies. if not rock. so i had no choice but to rush to bugis street. those china cds stall to purchase a jazz cd.. called " Closer - when pop meets jazz" the music was real great. love that cd very much. haha
anyway.. thru out that whole day.. i was playing that same old 2-piece cds over n over again thru out the whole day.. i still rmb at the end of the day, 2 salesgirls walked past the console where i was sitting there.. then they went, "oh, its the dj. eh. wait. so he's the one playing the same old bloody music over n over again?" i swear at that point of time, all i wished i could do is to juz pack up and go home man. so malu lah.. and not as tho i wanted it eh.. the whole day was boring.. i was sitting there.. re-reading the newpaper over n over again.. stoning away. haix. anyway, at the end of the day, i went over to town to find my colleague to help him tear down. while unpacking at the office, i was lifting a bar of parcans(light) with my colleague over some equipments. i was lifting it with my right arm.. halfway thru the air, my right arm suddenly lost energy and almost gave way. i paused there for a moment, my colleague eyes were so big sia.. haha.. but anyway, managed to change over to my left arm and safely put the par cans down. thank god tt it didn come crashing on me:p but my right arm was fused eh. then soon, it started to get a bit painful, but heck. i still have to continue unpacking now. sad. by the time evertythiing was unpacked and the equipments needed for the next day was loaded up onto the lorry, it was time.. to go home!! haha.. reached home at 6am.. slept at 730
managed to sleep for 2hrs plus before waking up at 930, rushing down to bugis in a cab. for the rest of the day, everything was almost the same. the only thing is that i'm more restless than before. having not enuf sleep, my head was bulging like mad. then fever sets in. then my right arm starts to hurt also. then my nose started to flow out mucus like some waste pipe leaking. the whole day was juz plain misery. dozed off time after time. and in the evening. when it started to rain. i couldnt stand it no more and ended up rolling myself up on the chair and slept. when i woke up. the organisers were sitting near me chatting away. in other words.. slacking.. haha. then on seeing me waking up. they told me this, "hey! u wake up liao ar? u were snoring lah." lolx.. for the rest of the evening, i didn dare to sleep again liao.
as time past, the more miserable i felt, i was sitting at the console and literally knocking my head against the console.. haha.. bet those customers who walked past must be thinking that why the organisers got such a crazy dj.
anyway, called my colleague. told him i couldnt take it no more. so he agreed to look for a replacement for sun and nlet me rest. thank god!
at the end of the day, met up with my mum who is workiong nearby and had just knocked off also.. and we 2 went home in a cab.
